Commissioned by the American Loggers Council in April 2026, this original painting by Bruce Cunningham was created for presentation to President Trump on Arbor Day, April 24, 2026. The artwork brings together symbols of American leadership, forestry, and renewal, featuring the White House, the President and Mrs. Trump, and the American chestnut tree (Castanea dentata) with its leaves, burs, and nuts. The tree, shown in both living and deciduous form, suggests resilience, restoration, and the enduring importance of the nation’s forests. This piece marks the third presidential painting Bruce Lyndon Cunningham has completed.
