Commissioned by the American Loggers Council in April 2026, this original painting by Bruce Cunningham was created for presentation to President Trump on Arbor Day, April 24, 2026. The artwork brings together symbols of American leadership, forestry, and renewal, featuring the White House, the President and Mrs. Trump, and the American chestnut (Castanea dentata) tree  with its leaves, burs, and nuts. The tree, shown in both living spring form and deciduous winter form, suggests resilience, restoration, and the enduring importance of the nation’s forests. Set within a hand-carved chestnut wooden frame rich with woodland details, this piece marks the third presidential painting Bruce Lyndon Cunningham has completed.The chestnut frame with the print will not be just like the President’s chestnut frame.
